A property maintenance technician is someone who takes care of buildings and other properties, responsible for maintenance duties such as landscaping, painting, carpentry, trash out of units, minor repairs, fixing sink traps, and anything else required to keep the property in good condition.

Job Requirements:

Experience

Must have a minimum of one year of maintenance related experience and possess a general understanding of tools, equipment, repair procedures and preventative maintenance protocols.

Education:

Must show a history in maintenance related field or equivalent. Must be able to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions. And essential function of the Maintenance Technician is the ability to interact wide with a variety of people and be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and residents.

Must possess a valid driver’s license. Reliable transportation.

This position is not felony friendly. Background checks will be completed.

Essential Duties

 Performs assignments as outlined by the Maintenance Supervisor including work

orders, unit turns, and maintenance of property grounds and common areas.

 Maintains and accounts for property equipment/tools.

 Performs routine minor plumbing, electrical and mechanical repair work.

 Assists with clearing snow and ice from walkways.

 Participates in an after-hours on-call rotation.

 Adheres to company policies related to time and attendance, safety regulations,

record keeping and maintenance procedures.

 Performs other duties as assigned by Property Manager and Maintenance Supervisor.

Physical requirements: Regular exposure to changes in temperature as well us dirt, dust, grease. Operates hand tools, power tools including saws, drills, mowers, blowers, voltage meters, drain snakes. Drives property vehicles to get parts and /or equipment. Position involves constant movement in the form of walking, standing, bending, and reaching. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
